Terms Used In DecaSIM

A list of terms and their definitions that you will comme accross using this app.

• Price Zone
  • A geographical area that has the same regular retail prices and the same promotional price for a set of SKUs.
• Optimized File
  • A file that has been populated using AI to allocate the optimum set of promotions according to a pre-specified Template and its set of Scenarios
• Template
  • A file containing a set of instructions on how to populate a marketing document (flyer, catalog, web-page). This document can be used to specify the logic as to which types of products can appear in which positions.
• Scenario
  • Each Template is associated with a set of allocation scenarios. The scenarios contain the scoring rules when the AI allocation runs. The scenarios ensure that the optimum promotions are selected for the template.
• Append
  • This process is initiated by clicking the append button for a specific design file. This process will append data to the design file according to the rules the user has placed in the append config file.
• Design File
  • This file type is uploaded by the user and contains positional information for a set of promotions. DecaSIM reads in Excel formmated files, and using the excel-import configurations the app can render complex spreadsheets in a machine-readable 2-D format.
• Reg Retail
  • This field contains the regular, non-discounted, price for an item.
• Model

  • A Model is a set of AI Shoppers that have been trained using a specific set of items and prices.
