DecaSIM Intro

DecaSIM is a Merchandising AI software application. There are three core products:

Getting Started​

Get started by Creating An Account or by asking your IT desk to set you up with a login. The application uses Single Sign On (SSO), if your organization is in-trial or a paying customer, you only need to authenticate access with your email address.

Site Admin Walk Through​

Before DecaSIM is ready to use it needs to be configured to connect with a customers data and data structure. This involves the following:

  • Configuring Remote Storage Access Settings
  • Configuring Core Configs
  • Configuring Module-specific Configs

User Walk Through​

Once you've logged in you'll be greeted with the dashboard, presenting functions of the application available according to your user account's role.

In the most common, expected usage, click into File Wizard. There, Drag & Drop or Click & Pick to select a file. Upload & processing will proceed once you click "Analyze Headers", for now at the top right of the application interface. During processing, logs of the parsing and transformation will appear. If the parsing encounters unexpected data or format, an on-page dialog will appear, with an option to "Contact Support".

Uploading an .xlsx file in a user-defined format (feature requests ...available) will produce a production preview presentation in PowerPoint format, .pptx.

Internally, when the "Analyze Headers" link starts the process, the application will:

  • Detect Excel or CSV format. Then:
    • For Excel files (.xlsx), the application will:
      • Parse the file, expanding by offer types (TO) & by country.
      • Enhance this internal file with pricing data, promotion pricing data, brand assets, and other configured enhancements according to the current preset configuration of the Model.
      • On successful completion of the append process, offer Production preview presentation (.pptx) for download.
    • For CSV files (.csv, .tsv), the application will detect the structure & data type to infer the purpose of the file, before presenting the user with a choice, how to import that file, for example as a Product Hierachy file, Pricing, or a Promo File.

The application has configurations to detect and process highly structured Excel Workbooks. In some aspects this configuration is sensitive to exact positions of key rows and cells, in other aspects it draws flexibly from the data format it can infer, including country ordering.

The standard workflow doesn't exist. However many promotion planning and marketing workflows have commonalities. Described below are a couple of different workflows, along with key interface points with DecaSIM.
